IMPORTANT TO KNOW: THERE ARE NO COSTS FOR YOU AS A PARTICIPANT IN THIS PROJECT! THE FILMING AND ANY PREPARATORY WORK WILL TAKE PLACE IN LOWER AUSTRIA AND IN VIENNA.
The application runs until August 15th 2023.
ALL YOUNG PEOPLE INTERESTED IN FILM CAN APPLY FOR THE FILM PROJECT "EINBLICK FILTERLOS". SO, SHOW US HOW CREATIVE YOU ARE AND SEND US YOUR FILM IDEA OR A SHORT VIDEO!
Whether the video is a short feature film, written in a documentary or experimental style, whether it deals with a funny or serious topic, whether it was shot with a mobile phone or a video camera, whether it features actors or does without actors at all, it's all up to you. The main thing is that it shows how creative you are in "filmic storytelling" or that the unique atmosphere of teamwork fascinates you!

But if you can't or don't want to make a video, it's also possible to apply with a film idea, i.e. with a short text/exposé or a screenplay/treatment. Scriptwriters are sought-after filmmakers and are therefore especially welcome here! And there is another advantage: you may not only be accepted with your film idea, but it may even be filmed! And if you are interested in the technical area, for example as a cameraman, for the lighting or sound department. We have great coaches for every department.

THE AGE
Young people make cinema!
To apply for EINBLICK filterlos, you must be at least 17 years old at the time of application and should not be older than 20.
VIDEOCLIP
Application film
Your video clip should be a maximum of two to three minutes long. And if it only lasts 20 seconds - that's good too! If you have already made a video recently, you don't have to make a new one, just send us this video to watch.
IDEA FOR A FILM
Script
Instead of a video, you can also apply with a film idea. A text file in synopsis or treatment or screenplay form can also be uploaded. Please don't upload genre ideas for fantasy, horror or science fiction nor thrillers, but stories depicting the reality of life of young people!

* If you want to jump at the chance that your film idea will make it into our short movie, then please read the guidelines for our recent short film production. And write a movie scene with dialogue according to these guidelines. This movie scene has to have a plausible and realistic plot. A storyline which describes the real life (of young people) and exposes an unfiltered view on possible problematic and dramatic situations. Distinct, straight forward, emotional and thrilling, but also tough and explicit if the story demands it. Or on the other side, amusing and inventive. A "spicy mixture" of these ingredients is very welcome!
GUIDELINE
Application Scene
Two 18 and 19-year-old orphaned Ukrainian sisters living in Semmering learn that their younger brother, believed to be missing, has arrived in the Waldviertel. Due to traumatic experiences in the past, they are fundamentally suspicious of their surroundings and spontaneously set off alone and secretly through the unfamiliar Lower Austria to get to their brother.
Vorgabe für vier zu entwickelnde Szenen: On their trip over mountains, forests, (country-) roads, fields and urban areas, they experience amusing, dangerous, emotional and tricky situations. A road movie in 4 stages/main scenes. (*For the application you can develop an idea for a scene on this trip/road movie, perhaps even with dialogue. This scene has to function indepentendly from a specific location, because the filming locations have not been decided yet.)
DATES
Schedule & Duration
If you are one of the lucky ones, you should be aware that this film project will require a certain amount of time from you. There will be interesting lectures and workshops with film professionals, but there will also be a script to be written, filming to be planned, prepared and carried out. It can take three or four months until the film is ready. But there will not be so many joint appointments in advance and we will plan all appointments with consideration for the participants.
FILM TEAMS
Group dynamics
The 4 main scenes of the short movie will be developed in teams of two participants each. Of course, you will also receive dramaturgical support in developing the script. The particular scenes will be directed by their writing teams. The second person in the team can also work as the D.O.P., with a coach on their side. Or any in any other department while filming. In any way, coaches and professionals will support you on the set, so you can concentrate on. your task. Our motto: learning by doing and gain experience for your future career in the business. And nevertheless make a great movie! Needless to say that the other participants will fulfill other functions on the set on the days they are not directing their particular scenes. Team spirit and solidarity are very important to us! You should support each other, motivate each other and contribute creatively.
PRODUCTION
Professionalism
Participation is free of charge and there are no costs for you. Since you will be working in a group, everyone else has an interest in the making of your own film. Therefore, it is very important that you are aware that regular participation in the input lectures, workshops and agreed appointments (mostly as video conferences), as well as productive cooperation in the teams, is a prerequisite for a great filmic result. Just like in the last projects. And just like at our previous film coproduction with young filmmakers from Israel we will communicate also this year mostly in English. with our colleagues from Ukraine.
